According to Larry...

This is the funniest movie ever made. Our dear Larry switched turns with Cheri. Of course, he's older than her anyway. So, I suppose there is some grounds for arguing that this makes him legally adopted into the family and no longer an in-law. Good thing for Cheri, who probably doesn't want to be married to her brother just to facilitate the smooth running of family movie night, he's technically older than Troy, so we can't follow that logic for justification. Instead, we'll have to make Larry married to Mindy. Of course that means that Mindy has to give up being an in-law as well, or she would have had to go after Larry. But, at least it solves the problem that was plaguing this blog. It creates a few other problems, but I think they are all trumped by the fabulous opportunity to watch this Christmas comedy during December and give Cheri another month to mull things over. So Larry's Christmas gift to all of us is.....
Plan to watch it on Saturday the 20th for some Christmas laughs. Thanks, Larry!

MINDY HAS SPOKEN...

On November 15th we will all be enjoying...

This is our second Robert Redford movie. I suppose it's appropriate since we're all doing this to make me feel better about being so far away from Utah. Thanks, Mindy!

TROY'S PICK...

Troy has decided to move us back into the current century. His pick is brand-spankin new! In fact, as I post this, the DVD release is still two days away. The good news is that it should probably be readily available in your local RED BOX just in time for Family Movie Night on October 18th. Everyone is invited to wach the movie with me, as we'll be in town for it!

Thanks Troy!

You guys didn't actually believe that Troy would choose Green Gables, did you? And everyone thinks I'm the one that's out of touch :).

Mom's Selection...

Mom has chosen, "The Sting," staring Robert Redford and Paul Newman from 1973. We are scheduled to watch this fabulous cinematic creation on Saturday, September 20th. Mom has given us plenty of time to acquire the show, so please try your best to watch it with the family. Remember to post your comments here after you've seen it, and take a few minutes to appreciate what everyone else had to say. If you are curious about the video, and don't want the plot to be a complete surprise on movie night, you can watch the preview by clicking below. Enjoy!

An interesting point- Mom said she picked this film in part because it was the academy award winner the year Troy was born. It is widely acclaimed as one of the best (If not THE best) films of the seventies.

Dad's Choice...

Dad has chosen "Cat Ballou" from 1965. We will be watching the show next Saturday, August 16th. Dad pondered his choice very carefully, so I expect it's just about the best movie ever made! Please post your comments here after the after you see the show so he knows what you thought.

Welcome to the Jensen Family Movie Night!

Hi Everyone! The Hancocks in El Paso are sure sorry to be missing out on the family night and birthday party each month; so, I asked mom if we could also do a monthly movie night. I decided to create this blog so we can discuss our movies. I know everyone is busy, so I'll make this very simple. Here's the process:

1: Someone in the family chooses a movie. To make it easy, we'll go in order. I want spouses to choose too since we have so many delightful, independent personalities in our family. The order will go like this: Dad, Mom, Troy, Mindy, Cheri, Larry, Eric, Amanda, Amy, Nate, Amber, Weston, Scott, Katie.

2: Watch the movie! Officially, our watch date is the third Saturday of the month. Realistically, there will be months when the date doesn't work for you. Just try to watch it the same week.

3: Please log on to this site and comment on the post about the movie. Again, I realize that we all have a lot going on. But, please try to get on and write a sentence to humor your favorite sister.

Thanks Guys!!!!
