Dad's Choice...

Dad has chosen "Cat Ballou" from 1965. We will be watching the show next Saturday, August 16th. Dad pondered his choice very carefully, so I expect it's just about the best movie ever made! Please post your comments here after the after you see the show so he knows what you thought.

I hope that everyone has had a great time with this movie. As I watched it I was reminded how good old movies can be. This show was Lee Marvin at this best as he played the roles of both gunfighters. He is known for playing a good drunk. I thought it has some good one liners. Such as during the wake when he was asked if he couldn't tell what was happening and he said, "Happy Birthday," and blew out the candles. Good clean humor.

My favorite part was when the guy in the bathtub told them to get on with the robbery so that he could finish his bath. I was kind of bummed when the drunk gunfighter didn't stay clean. Thanks, Dad! We're looking forward to Mom's pick!

I thought it was a fun show. I was just amazed with how nicely Jane Fonda has aged. This movie was made like 40 years ago and she doesn't look much different. Weston said that he enjoyed it in spite of his first impression of the cover. We had a great time! Thanks Dad!

I'm glad so many liked the movie. It was one of my favorite movie memories from when I was a kid. I knew that it would suprise those who hadn't seen it, especially when I heard the first impressions from looking at the cover.

Nate Says:

I was really disappointed Jane Fonda didn't get hanged

... and then dismembered
... and then burned
... and the ashes scattered on a midden heap.

We all enjoyed the show. With the exception of the frequent musical interruptions, it was a great story line. Jesiah was laughing hysterically at many parts. Thanks for getting us to watch something we probably never would have picked up on our own Dad.

We thought the movie was cute, and had good clean humor. We also enjoyed Lee Marvin, and how funny he was. Ben even liked the movie but he didnt like cat because she was "naughty". We laug.hed when he said that. Over-all is was a good moive and we laughed most of the way through it

Mindy said, I was really really mad at the town. They were mean to the Indian, Cat, and her father. I know that it was a comedy but, that town made me really, really mad.

Troy used this movie to write a paper on social problems. He said that it had enough problems to make his paper great.

I really enjoyed the drunk gunfighter. The movie was alright considering how bloody old it was.
