Mom has chosen, "The Sting," staring Robert Redford and Paul Newman from 1973. We are scheduled to watch this fabulous cinematic creation on Saturday, September 20th. Mom has given us plenty of time to acquire the show, so please try your best to watch it with the family. Remember to post your comments here after you've seen it, and take a few minutes to appreciate what everyone else had to say. If you are curious about the video, and don't want the plot to be a complete surprise on movie night, you can watch the preview by clicking below. Enjoy!
An interesting point- Mom said she picked this film in part because it was the academy award winner the year Troy was born. It is widely acclaimed as one of the best (If not THE best) films of the seventies.

Alright everyone, now that I have made my selection, I would like to hear from you before you watch the movie. Tell me what your impressions are and ask any questions that you may have. Perhaps you are wondering why I choose it or why I would like this movie. Come on everyone just let me have it and I think we can have a lot of fun.
This is one of Nate's favorite films -He's very excited about it!
This is a great choice. I haven't seen it for years and I'm excited to watch it again. It's a really great movie. Dad
We'll see how we feel after we watch it:) I have no ideas or impressions yet. But I'll let you have it if we get bored to death- if I can be brought back to life! Just have to say something controversial to make this more interesting.
This was a great movie, for being made before our time, we really didnt know what to expect from it however. we were really turned off in the start, but as it went on we really ejoyed it.
This was like an old time "Oceans" movie. We enjoyed it from the start. All of the different parties after Redford kept the plot moving and entertaining.
I really must say Sorry to everyone. I was going on 35 year old memories and I has not remembered that it had one part that was totally not good. As dad and I were watching it I almost died when that part came on. Please do not think that I like skin movies!
What I did remember was the surprise ending and the way that it all played out. How the plans were all made so carefully and that the bad guy lost his money and the bad cop did not get what he wanted.
This was the number one movie the year Troy was born.
Weston and I watched the movie a little late, but we did it! My impression was not so good. I thought the beginning was good and interesting. Then I fell asleep, so don't ask me any trivia questions. I will try and finish it, but to be honest, I am not that interested. I will try and get Weston to write his views, he actually finished it :).
I must say, mom, Paul Newman is WAY hotter than Robert Redford. I was sorry to read that he died yesterday. The obituary was interesting though. Apparently he had one of the very rare long time hollywood marriages. He told reporters that he thought it was stupid to go out for hamburger when you had steak at home. It was a fun movie!
The movie was pretty good. I liked it, even though it was predictable. Good Choice.
