Amanda's Lucky Pick

So Here's a funny story. When we were getting ready to watch Finding Forrester, I started thinking about Sean Connery. And it crossed my mind how absolutely adorable he was as a young man. Nate was being a pain in the butt, so I said, "I think when it's my turn to pick the family movie, I'll pick something from my childhood like 'The Neverending Story' or 'Darby O'Gill and the Little People.'" I said it because Nate gets really irritated when I make him watch "The Neverending Story" and because I had Sean Connery on the brain. The funny part is that Nate's immediate response was, "I wouldn't mind watching Darby O Gill."

Two hours later, I was chatting with Amanda and she told me her choice for March was, "Darby O'Gill and the Little People." It's amazing. Look what a close knit, in sync family we are! Everyone tune in on March 21st! It's pretty kid-friendly so even the newest Jensen girl can watch (assuming she's here). Thanks, Amanda!

Eric's Thoughtful Interjection

Eric dragged his feet and, finally, declared, "Whatever, you might as well do 'Finding Forrester.'" The moral of the story is that he's REALLY enthusiastic about his choice. Everyone tune in next Saturday, February 15th. I'm at least as excited as Eric, Maybe more.

Cheri's Very Solemn Selection

Despite the fact that I told her that I didn't want to watch a show about a crazy mathematician, Cheri has chosen: A BEAUTIFUL MIND!

This will be our first real drama. Cheri said she likes shows that have a twist to them. So, rest assured that if you haven't seen this one, you're in for a treat. We'll be watching this show on Saturday, January 17th. That's only a little over a week, so please, please post your comments on Larry's choice soon. If you don't, I'll send Ryan and Sean over to break your thumbs.

Love ya!

According to Larry...

This is the funniest movie ever made. Our dear Larry switched turns with Cheri. Of course, he's older than her anyway. So, I suppose there is some grounds for arguing that this makes him legally adopted into the family and no longer an in-law. Good thing for Cheri, who probably doesn't want to be married to her brother just to facilitate the smooth running of family movie night, he's technically older than Troy, so we can't follow that logic for justification. Instead, we'll have to make Larry married to Mindy. Of course that means that Mindy has to give up being an in-law as well, or she would have had to go after Larry. But, at least it solves the problem that was plaguing this blog. It creates a few other problems, but I think they are all trumped by the fabulous opportunity to watch this Christmas comedy during December and give Cheri another month to mull things over. So Larry's Christmas gift to all of us is.....
Plan to watch it on Saturday the 20th for some Christmas laughs. Thanks, Larry!

MINDY HAS SPOKEN...

On November 15th we will all be enjoying...

This is our second Robert Redford movie. I suppose it's appropriate since we're all doing this to make me feel better about being so far away from Utah. Thanks, Mindy!

TROY'S PICK...

Troy has decided to move us back into the current century. His pick is brand-spankin new! In fact, as I post this, the DVD release is still two days away. The good news is that it should probably be readily available in your local RED BOX just in time for Family Movie Night on October 18th. Everyone is invited to wach the movie with me, as we'll be in town for it!

Thanks Troy!

You guys didn't actually believe that Troy would choose Green Gables, did you? And everyone thinks I'm the one that's out of touch :).
